A shoe retailer's shopping agent should remember that a customer prefers a certain brand and size, and use that the next time the customer returns weeks later. Which agent capability provides this?

Choose one answer.

  1. A. Long-term memory that keeps key facts across sessions
  2. B. A higher temperature so the agent is more creative
  3. C. A larger context window for the current conversation
  4. D. A stop sequence at the end of every reply
Show the answer and explanation

Answer: A

  • A. Right: Correct. Long-term memory stores extracted insights such as user preferences so they survive beyond one conversation.
  • B. Wrong: Temperature changes how random responses are. It does not store anything about a customer.
  • C. Wrong: A context window only covers the current request. It is not kept for a visit weeks later.
  • D. Wrong: Stop sequences end generation at a given string. They have nothing to do with remembering users.

Explanation

Agents use short-term memory for the current session and long-term memory for information that should persist across sessions, such as user preferences, facts and summaries. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Memory, for example, extracts these insights from conversations and retrieves them when relevant.
